Bocconi University in Milan, Italy invites applications for tenured full professor positions in accounting from committed individuals with high levels of research accomplishment, who are interested in financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, tax, and other areas.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct original research of high quality that is publishable in top-tier academic journals, to mentor junior faculty and PhD students, and to teach compulsory and elective courses in accounting.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic researcher who is capable of cultivating academic excellence, guiding and nurturing a team of international and ambitious researchers and educators who regularly engage with the accounting profession and with many other external stakeholders.

Standards of excellence in teaching are also expected.

Knowledge of Italian language is not required. Salaries, research accounts and teaching loads are competitive with leading academic institutions abroad. Bocconi faculty are expected to teach in the undergraduate, masters, and PhD programs.

About the Organization The Accounting Department offers one of the best academic research environment in Europe, comprising over 30 international scholars who, collectively, study and teach the role of information and governance in internal decision-making processes, in capital markets, in promoting ESG, and in informing stakeholders more broadly.

We have a PhD program with a structured rigorous curriculum. Our students collaborate with the faculty and external international scholars in the US, Europe, and Asia. The department has a regular seminar series with prominent international scholars and a brown bag seminar as well. Starting from 2023, the department hosts the annual Bocconi Accounting Symposium.
