HT is a new interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, whose aim is to develop innovative strategies to promote human health and aging through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational and structural biology and neuroscience, as well as data and decisions sciences.

(S)He will have the following main responsibilities:

Research involving imaging, single-cell RNA-seq or EHR data, depending on the applicants skillset and desires;
Collaborating and helping to accelerate the scientific output of other team members (PhDs + Postdocs);
Take responsibility of ensuring good software engineering practices within the team;
Publishing reproducible research papers;
Sharing their work with the community at international conferences.

Essential:

PhD in Computer science, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Mathematics or similar.

Fluency in English

HT is an international research institute.

At least two expertise selected from below:

Experience in any of the following: scRNA-seq, GWAS, EHR and Imaging.
Interest in Bayesian modelling / model development.
Software engineering experience in Python, R or both.
Experience in converting research code to publication ready code
Experience in reproducible research. (e.g. Docker, workflow languages, git, packaging code)

Experience with any of the following: computational statistics, scientific computing, machine learning, computer vision, computational biology pipelines would be seen as
highly advantageous.

Required personal skills:

Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to lead and gain the assistance and cooperation of others in a team endeavour.
