- Management of Accounts Payable: recording and verification of incoming supplier invoices in accordance with company policies; prepare and execute weekly payment runs.
- Monitor accounts payable aging reports, manage vendor inquiries professionally, and and resolve discrepancies by working collaboratively with project managers and/or vendors.
- Accounting reconciliation for accounts payable and related balances in prepaid expenses: regular execution of account reconciliations to ensure consistency and resolution of discrepancies;
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries primarily related to cash accounts and prepaid expenses and other support as needed for the monthly and annual accounting closings;

- Monitoring of economic and financial transactions;
- Collaboration with the Accounting & Finance department in Milan and the U.S., as needed, to optimize internal accounts payable processes.
- Diploma in accounting or degree in economics/finance;
- Proven experience in similar roles, preferably in Energy companies
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (ITA GAAP and USA GAAP)
- Good command of management software and IT tools (Dynamics, Excel)
- Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
- Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.

The AP Accountant will play a key role in managing accounts payable and related general accounting operations, contributing to regulatory adherence and the continuous improvement of administrative processes for the Italian Legal Entities of Ameresco Group. The successful candidate will support the local Italy finance and accounting team, reporting directly to the Corporate head of accounts payable and shared services team, and indirectly to the local head of accounting and finance. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle a high volume of transactions efficiently.
