    Hauptaufgaben

    Incumbent installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots all hardware and software components, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and other system interfaces, testing for system malfunctions. Receives, responds to, and ensures resolution of all types of help desk service requests. Notifies supervisor of any significant trends in user requests and requirements and any potential problems that may have a detrimental effect on mission performance. Analyzes issues and resolves IT and/or communication related problems, referring more difficult or complex problems. Prepares computer equipment for turn-in by following established regulations and guidelines. Installs and configures all necessary software prior to issuing equipment to users and ensures property accountability procedures are followed. He/she functions as a technical service advisor related to microcomputer-based software, hardware systems and communication equipment within the serviced (AOR). Provides advice on the capabilities and/or limitations of computer peripheral/auxiliary hardware and software systems related to organization's operations. Provides networking and/or software product demonstrations; ensures conformance to the standard information management architecture. Resolves operating problems or conditions not previously encountered or specifically covered in established guidelines. Works individually or with other IT specialists to install changes in computer operating systems or equipment, develop new operating procedures, and incorporate changes into or in place of existing guidelines.
    Incumbent develops recommendations, plans and projects pertaining to IT customer support requirements. Serves as a liaison in IT problem areas, program requirements, and methods of accomplishment, collects IT information, analyzes and shares throughout organization.
    Attends and participates in meetings, briefings, conferences, seminars and/or training courses to acquire knowledge pertaining to IT systems, networking applications and software. Provides training, as needed, to organization's personnel and customers.
    NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08.00 to 17.00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.

    Qualifikationsanforderungen

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet the qualification requirements in the Qualification Standards Handbook as summarized below.

    Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
    -Attention to Detail;
    -Customer Service;
    -Oral Communication;
    -Problem Solving.

    In addition to the aforementioned experience, applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the UA-02 grade level.

    Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
