Principal - Florence Junior/Senior High SchoolFlorence Jr/Sr High School is located along Highway 50 in Fremont County and serves approximately 560 students in grades 7–12. The school offers small class sizes, robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming, strong academic, athletic, and music programs, and a commitment to student-centered learning. The Principal is responsible for advancing the school's mission and vision, fostering a positive and inclusive school climate, and ensuring high levels of academic achievement and student engagement. The Principal leads and supervises all instructional, behavioral, and operational systems; oversees staff supervision and evaluation; ensures compliance with district, state, and federal requirements; and represents the school with integrity, transparency, and professionalism. Essential Duties and Responsibilities(Other duties may be assigned)

Provide leadership for the administration of the total school programServe as the chief instructional leader responsible for teaching and learning outcomesSupervise, support, and evaluate all assigned staff in accordance with district and state guidelinesLead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP)Establish and oversee systems for student discipline, attendance, and truancyEnsure effective implementation and oversight of MTSS processesOversee building-level safety planning and chair or designate leadership of the Safety CommitteeDevelop and manage school wide organizational systems, processes, and protocolsLead the development and implementation of the master scheduleProvide general supervision of students and ensure appropriate supervision of extracurricular activitiesFoster strong school-parent-community relationships through consistent communication and engagementRepresent the school positively within the district and community

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe Principal directly supervises administrative, instructional, and classified staff assigned to the school. Responsibilities include:

Interviewing, hiring, training, and assigning staffDirecting work, evaluating performance, and recognizing excellenceAddressing concerns and resolving conflicts in accordance with district policies and applicable laws

Qualifications

Colorado Initial or Professional Principal License (or eligibility for licensure), including state-approved Teacher Evaluation TrainingSuccessful building-level administrative experience preferredSuccessful secondary teaching experienceStrong understanding of instructional strategies, assessment practices, and educator evaluationKnowledge of Colorado academic standards and assessmentsDemonstrated success in student management, staff supervision, and school operationsStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with students, staff, families, and community membersSuccessful completion of required background checks and fingerprinting

Contract, Salary, and Benefits

Salary placement according to the District Instructional Administrator Salary Schedule ($101, $134,393.00)Credit accepted for up to twenty (20) years of administrative experienceDistrict contribution toward benefits package valued at $4,944 annually, including Health, Dental, Vision, and Life InsuranceLeave benefits in accordance with District policyColorado Association of School Executives (CASE) membership dues paid by the District
