INTERNSHIP PROGRAM TITLE:
Updating and Improving QA/QC Procedures in Construction


Duration:
6 months (January / June 2023), at offices of Jacobs Italia S.p.
A. premises, located in Cologno Monzese, via Alessandro Volta, 16 and at construction sites based in other locations.

Program and activities of the internship:

The trainee will acquire knowledge about the organizational structure and processes relevant to company's functioning and, in particular, knowledge of the structure and working tools of the Quality Management System (QMS) related to the Construction Department.

Once the above fundamentals have been acquired, he/she will be involved in the process of updating and improving the QA/QC procedures in Construction and in the use and implementation of BIM360 (Autodesk Construction Cloud) tool.

The trainee will be actively involved in the following activities:

  • Study and analysis of mandatory laws and regulations on construction and quality controls in construction;
  • Study and analysis of the procedures of the Quality Management System (QMS) of the Construction Department currently in force;
  • Updating and Improvement of the procedures of the Quality Management System (QMS) of the Construction Department to fill any regulatory gaps, implement good construction requirements and digitalization implementation for quality management on site;
  • Preparation of the material and carrying out the necessary training for the implementation of the new procedures;
  • Monitoring activities on the compliance and effectiveness of the procedures of the Quality Management System (QMS) of the Construction Department;
  • Monitoring of the correct use of the BIM360 tool and active support in the implementation and training of resources.


The project activities will take place under the direct tutoring of the Head of the Construction Department, with the support of the Head of the Quality and Delivery Department.


Educational objectives of the internship:


It represents a fundamental experience of know-how-oriented learning development, but also an opportunity to refine one's personal skills of problem solving, relationship management and teamworking.

In summary, the internship has as its training objective that the trainee acquires:

  • good technical-business training;
- knowledge of management processes;
- specialized work tools to operate in the QA/QC area under construction;
- the strengthening of personal and relational skills;
- an operational experience in a multinational company.

Trainee prerequisites**:
In order for the success of the Training Project, the trainee must possess the following pre-requisites:

  • Good basic organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • The trainee will need to deal with the different personnel/roles and business entities at local and European level;
  • Excellent analysis and synthesis skills;
  • The trainee must be able to compare and analyze even complex documents and synthesize the differences;
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English;


The procedures of the Quality Management System (QMS) of the Construction Department are bilingual and some construction sites are located abroad.
