    Location: Firenze, Italy (Hybrid)

    Job Overview: As a Bid Engineer, you will manage the entire lifecycle of a bid from a technical perspective, focusing on key areas such as communication systems, passenger mobility systems, security systems, and SCADA/OCC systems.

    • Main Responsibilities:
    • Identify and analyse contractual and system requirements, defining architecture and allocating requirements to system components.
    • Develop solutions, ensuring conformity with requirements, quality, and performance.
    • Pose technical solutions and ensure effective coordination among various stakeholders.
    • Main Technical Interface for subsystems.
    • Participate in Bid Meetings (internal and external) when scheduled and/or requested.
    • Compile reports concerning your role and responsibilities according to internal reporting procedure.
    • Coordinate and control different vendors/manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
    • Correctly apply Quality procedures and HSE procedures and instructions.
    • Allocate and coordinate human and physical resources within your team.
    • Continually review technical scope of work and keep updated the scope baseline informing constantly the Bid Manager and the Solution Engineering Manager.
    • Support and contribute to technical bid activities.
    • Deliver outcomes/artefacts required by bids in which you are involved.

    Key Requirements:

    You should have professional experience (min. 8 years) in managing Telecom Subsystems relevant to complex integrated Bids/projects in Transportation Domain (Railways, Metro, Tramways, Tunnels, Urban Security, etc.).

    Bid Engineer role requires technical knowledge of all main technologies and subsystems used to implement IT, Telecom, and Security services, their integration and operational scenarios.

    Main skills/expertise requested by the candidate to successfully cover the role are:

    • Telecommunication Networks / IT Infrastructures: Design, Integration of complex multiservice wired telecommunication networks (Gigabit Ethernet, MPLS, SDH, etc…), IP backbones and protocols (LACP, RSTP, OSPF, VLAN, etc…)
    • Design, Integration of wireless telecommunication networks (Wi-Fi, TETRA, GSM-R, LTE, FRMCS etc…)
    • Security Systems, Passenger Information Systems (Wayside, On Board): Design, Integration of CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems (EN 50131), Access Control Systems, Fire & Smoke Detection Systems (EN 54 and UL/FM)
    • Design, Integration of VoIP Telephone, Intercom and Emergency Call Systems.
    • Design, Integration of Public Announcement / General Alarm Systems (PAGA), Voice Evacuation Systems (EVAC) (IEC 60849 / EN 54-16).
    • Design, Integration of Multimedia / Passenger Information Display Systems (PIS).
    • EMI/EMC Standards, Railway Standards: Knowledge of main EMI/EMC international standards (IEC 61000, EN 50121…)
    • Knowledge of RFI standards for Tunnel Security applications (TT528, TT597…)
    • Knowledge of main Rolling Stock standards (EN 50155, EN 50121-3-2, EN61373, IEC61375).
    • Design and Integration of LV/MV Power Supply Systems (UPS, AC/DC, LFM, etc…)
    • Design and Integration of SCADA/OCC Systems.
    • Knowledge of RFI standards for Tunnel Security applications.

    The candidate must have developed through his professional experiences the capability of managing relationship with other departments, Customers and Suppliers.

    Fluent English and Italian are mandatory. Available to travel.
