Job Opening cod CMCC Position Environmental economist and risk analyst (Deadline: May, 19th 2024) ABOUT US The CMCC Foundation is a scientific research center on climate change and its interactions with the environment, society, the world of business, and policymakers.

Our work aims to stimulate sustainable growth, protect the environment, and develop strategies for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Our Institute for Climate Resilience (ICR) is looking for a new position of environmental economist & risk analyst, located in Venice, responsible for contributing to in the ongoing international/European research projects in the field of climate adaptation, ecosystem regeneration and nature-based solutions.

Venice ROLE The environmental economist & risk analyst will be involved in the ongoing international/European research projects in the field of climate adaptation, ecosystem regeneration and nature-based solutions.

REQUIREMENTS PhD degree in Economics, Environmental Economics, Ecological Economics, Business Analysis, Environmental Science (or similar subjects) with good knowledge of finance & economics, or as an alternative, at least 5 years relevant working experience with a comparable publication record;Background in or good knowledge and experience in environmental/resource/ ecological economics, sustainable business innovation, insurance, green finance, smart specialisation strategies, environmental accounts or similar themes;Quantitative skills, including geospatial analysis (knowledge of programming in R and Python is not strictly required but would be an asset);Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of other foreign languages is an asset;Experience and attitude towards interdisciplinary team workingGood communication skillsStrong problem-solving attitude.

DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Based on the duration of the employment contract, without prejudice to any changes in organisation and/or career paths and downstream of the performance appraisal.

The appointment period will be initially of 12 months starting from June 2024, renewable for 12 months additional months pending a positive evaluation.

Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher;The gross annual salary range is from to Euros, depending on qualification and working experience; Welfare package;Flexible working time;Support during the immigration process, if needed.
