    R&D Electrical Designer - Packaging

    As an R&D Electrical Designer, you combine expertise in both electrical engineering and software development to innovate and improve our packaging machines.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design electrical systems and software applications of tissue packaging machines for R&D projects using programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications.
    • Support the standard machine team.
    • Develop and implement software to control electrical systems.
    • Work with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with other offices involved in R&D project management such as technical designers and Customer Service Technical Office to ensure product alignment with market needs.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentoring.

    To Succeed in This Role:

    • Degree in Automation or Electronics Engineering.
    • Proven experience of at least 5 years in the role and in an automation industrial company.
    • Excellent knowledge of hardware components of packaging machines.
    • Knowledge of PLC, HMI, electrical cams.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills.
    • Problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Customer-focused and detail-oriented.
    • Italian and English language proficiency, both written and oral.
    • Strong understanding of electrical systems and software development principles.
    • Alignment with Valmet's values.
