Within the AXA XL Italian branch, the primary focus of the role is to provide professional HR support.

You will be part of the Local Leadership Team and work closely with both Global and Regional HR expert teams.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

As part of the Italian branch Local Leadership Team, cohesively connecting with all functions within HR at global and regional level, the HR Manager main mission is to:

  • Partner with the Country Manager by designing, recommending and implementing HR strategic plans to enable business strategic ambitions
- achievement and to ensure the attraction, retention and development of best-in-class talents.

  • Lead the HR department through the implementation of HR policies and processes driving the People Management strategies.
  • Build and monitor accurately budget plans, actuals and forecast through the year in collaboration with local Finance team to guarantee People strategy is handled as well through the lens of branch profitability, proper resources management and competitive compensation packages in line with country strategy and broader strategic plan.
  • Manage Employee Relations and Social Relations locally, in strong partnership with Regional Social and Employee relations function as well as with AXA GI locally, in line with AXA Group social dialogue mindset.
  • Cultivating effective working relationships with the business by advising Local leadership team members and midmanagers on their perimeter and transversally on to engage colleagues, address people management situations, contribute to building people capabilities effectively, and ensure the achievement of business strategic ambition in terms of HR strategy.
  • Ensure a strong stakeholder management approach throughout the organization within the HR function, the Country Manager, the Local Leadership Team members, AXA GI and other AXA entities locally and unions from the branch, locally and group wide as necessary.
Some of the activities for which the HR Manager will be responsible for, more in details:

  • Driving the continuous improvement agenda with focus on engagement activities, maximizing productivity, building up line managers and leadership capabilities and taking a leading role in transforming and strengthening the organizational culture, ensuring that the company values and approach are displayed.
  • Ensuring that the human resources programs, initiatives, policies, tools and processes are implemented effectively and efficiently as well as the execution of core areas of the HR department including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Workforce Administration, Employee Engagement, Payroll, Reward and Recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems and management of the HR budget.
  • Supporting Leaders on the Succession plan, Talent mapping and risk mitigation actions for people identified as mission critical to secure as much as possible business priorities and talent management.
  • Advising leaders and managers on compensation topics (partnering with the Global and regional Compensation team on benchmarks, salary, long term incentives, and promotions), on all employee relations situations including contractual changes, disciplinary matters, and longterm leave (e.g. maternity leave, sickness, etc.), ensuring a fair and consistent approach within parameters of legal obligations and corporate as well as local policies.
  • Coaching, mentoring and supporting staff members to identify their individual strengths and development needs, while championing an open, embracing culture of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) throughout the organization.
  • Providing professional leadership, support and development to HR staff, in order to increase knowledge, share best practice and to ensure that relevant professional standards are met.
  • Designing and executing a plan for diversity and inclusion that aligns with company values, business strategy, commitments and local specifics.

We're looking for someone who has these qualifications and skills:

  • Fluent Italian and English by being able to communicate and work
  • Previous experience in HR roles in multinational or structured context.
  • Leadership development by knowing, selecting and implementing personal and professional development tools and methods (coaching, assessment centers, 360° feedback, etc) to enable leaders and managers to fulfill their potential, on both technical and behavioral dimensions.
  • Decision & execution by making swift and efficient databased decisions, keeping the focus on the strategic goals over time, by selecting the relevant information and identifying the alternatives and selecting the best one.
  • Listening & communicating efficiently, adapting to audiences, stakeholders and channels, and by quickly perceiving the emotions of others and adapt consequently.
