- Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to the banquet event order, communicate directly with group contacts, Catering and Sales Departments to ensure that all details of the function are carried out.
- Respond proactively to guest queries and to ensure appropriate action is taken in the absence of the Banqueting Management team, followed by effective communication.
- Support the Banqueting Management team in training, leading, motivating and coaching all Banquet employees in ensuring that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities and planning for department operation.
- Attend regular operational meetings to guarantee effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
- Description and ensure quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive dining experience.
- Ensure that guest satisfaction is monitored and where appropriate, rectified throughout their meal experience.
- Plan daily activities for events operations in the absence of Management.
- Work closely with the F&B Manager, Executive Chef and Director of Catering to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair.
- Education: High school education or relevant experience.
- Experience: Must have a minimum of one year food service experience in a similar role in a luxury environment and previous experience in service.
- Skills and Abilities: Must possess organizational and people skills, as well as a drive to deliver an exceptional level of service. Problem solving and a capacity to work under pressure are expected for this position. Must possess an extensive level of wine and food knowledge. Proficiency in using the Micros Operating System. Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the Italian and English language. This position requires the ability to lift equipment, carry and balance trays.
