The Privacy Manager is responsible for supporting the Data Protection Officer and MSC Cruises in completing the implementation of its Global Privacy Program across the Cruise Division and planning, executing and delivering privacy projects by taking into account scope, budget, and strict deadlines, whilst ensuring applicability of solutions and stakeholder alignment.


  • Extensive experience in data protection and privacy;
  • Solid knowledge of the GDPR, complimentary regulations (e.g., ePrivacy) and laws, related guidelines, recommendations, enforcement trends by data protection authorities, ECJ's interpretation as well as additional data protection laws;
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal or similar;
  • Minimum 46 years of experience, preferably in a consultancy\/law firm or in consulting type or cross organizational projects. Inhouse experience is an asset;
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Service and results oriented business focused mindset;
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, as well as a sense of urgency;
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced changing environment;
  • Proactive, able to work autonomously and handling various tasks simultaneously;
  • Experience in Privacy Management Software implementation (e.g. OneTrust) is a plus;
  • Solid understanding of technical operations and measures related to data protection and data security;
  • Strong technical process mapping skills;
  • Strong focus on attention to details;
  • Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal relationship skills;
  • Strong presentation skills, both written and oral;
  • Fluency in English, any other language considered a plus (French and\/or German language is an asset);
  • Privacy Certification (CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) and\/or Certification in Project Management (PMP\/PMI) is a plus;
  • Knowledge of privacy laws and concepts globally (US, LATAM, APAC) is a plus;
  • Eager to learn personality and passionate about privacy and data protection;
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and MS Outlook.
  • Supports the Data Protection Officer in completing the implementation of the Global Privacy Program including data protection and privacy laws in various jurisdictions;
  • Performs the various projects connected with the Global Privacy Program with a critic and proactive attitude;
  • Manages the overall project lifecycle from the design, implementation and evaluation with clear project structure and methodology, including definition of project tasks and priorities;
  • Contributes to advance accountability and challenge the status quo of the current Company's privacy processes;
  • Supports the department in performing the privacy risk assessment that addresses the key areas of privacy risk\/opportunity within the company;
  • Manages and\/or performs independent and objective reviews and evaluations of any and all company privacy operations to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of such processes and the compliance with the GDPR and local privacy laws and regulations;
  • Carries out benchmarks and researches market best practices to enhance Company's privacy policies and procedures;
  • Actively works to the privacy policies and procedures preparation, drafts privacy notices and other documents, contributes to DPIA, TIA and other assessments;
  • Liaises with key stakeholders to ensure due completion of all activities in time and quality;
  • Establishes and maintains effective business relationships with management to ensure stakeholder alignment with the project followup and a positive and proactive image of the department;
  • Develops presentations for top management on project status and results;
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive project documentation\/ deliverables in quality and form and measures project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques;
  • Advises business functions on various privacy topics;
  • Negotiates data protection terms and contracts directly with vendors;
  • Monitors data protection and privacy trends, laws and initiatives;
  • Maintains and updates the RoPA and other registers;
  • Other duties as assigned.
