Gorgonzola hosts Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain.

The activity of NAS domain:

avionics, navigation and radar systems for civil air traffic and technologies supporting the activities of civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers and technicians of several airlines, air traffic control agencies and Air Force around the world.

Italy is the Group's Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products.

We are currently looking for an HW Work Package Manager to join Thales Land and Air Systems in its Navaids Center of Competence
Gorgonzola (near Milan).

Technically responsible for the profitable delivery of the projects / products, and their consistency with the solution, the HW Work Package Manager coordinates the design and development activities, manages technically the subcontractors, liases with the HW Head of Discipline and the other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the projects in compliance with the schedule, cost and quality objectives

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Management of packages of hardware design work
Technical Management of Subcontractors
Coordination of the design, development and optimization of Complex HW Solutions and Systems
Conducts all work package activities (including those relating to risks and opportunities) to reach completion of the project regarding its technical, industrial, and delivery objectives
Monitors all the aspects of the work package including organization, scheduling, effort and budget
When the Work Package covers and external supplier, he/she shall ensure that the supplier project is monitored in term of schedule, milestones, risks and quality to meet the contract requirements

Experience needed:

Strong experience in HW development work packages, including all development phases (requirements, preliminary and detailed design, prototype manufacturing and test, )
Team leadership and/or previous experience of technical management of subcontractors
Experience in estimating, scheduling, progress reporting, cost management, risk management, change management
Some knowledge in RF design or projects is a plus
Some knowledge of DO254 Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware is a plus

COMMUNICATION

Strong communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms across different management levels.
Ability to work in team. Taste for international contacts. Manifest the flexibility needed to be integrated in the different stages of a project.
Technical leadership with ability to build and sustain good working relationships with staff, peers and managers, customers and other stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:

Master's degree in field with 3+ years' experience
Interpersonal skills the ability to communicate effectively with peers and act proactively within a team environment
English fluent is a must
Italian fluent is nice to have
Ability to speak additional languages as German or French is a benefit
The role will require travel for less than 20% of the time
