    Terna, national transmission grid (NTG) operator, is actively engaged in the process of ecological transition and—as director of the electricity system and enabler of the energy transition—has the task of developing a grid capable of managing the ever-increasing integration of renewables and enabling the progressive decarbonisation of the system while constantly balancing energy produced and consumed.

    Terna is looking for a Project Leader to join its Rome office to work in the Works and Converter Station Design Area in the Design and Implementation of HVDC and Marine Systems facility.

    This facility is responsible for designing and executing the new HVDC and underwater cable projects while ensuring the availability of the necessary areas, seeking implementation solutions that respect the territory and the environment and defining technological design standards that maximise the efficiency and efficacy of the system.

    The successful candidate will join the Works and Converter Station Design unit and will work on the design and construction of conversion stations.

    He/she will be responsible for the following main duties:

    Coordinating the resources of the project team, both during the stage of preparing the technical documentation for launching the request for proposals (RFP) and during the stage of designing and constructing conversion stations.

    Handling the preparation of the technical specifications within his/her remit (e.g. the general and quality-related part). Evaluating proposals regarding the design and construction of conversion stations. Handling relationships with the contractor, making sure that the order is managed to high quality standards.


    Taking care of:

    project engineering; the supervision of factory testing and on-site testing, including plant commissioning activities; documentation management, controlling and monitoring project progress.

    Ensuring support for planning and obtaining the availability of construction site areas prior to the opening of the construction sites.

    Contract management Handling the ordinary management of contracts for the design and construction of conversion stations, as well as the management of operations to prepare the site.

    Supporting the project manager and the portfolio manager in order to take strategic decisions for the project. Supporting the purchasing and procurement department in defining contract clauses with reference to technical matters.

    Supporting the contract management department in the extraordinary management of contracts and, in particular, in the management of disputes and non-conformities.

    Supporting the project controllers in monitoring and controlling the project.


    Moreover:
    Ensuring the technical-economic planning of the project for the purpose of defining the budget and the multi-year plan. Ensuring that the work is completed to the required standards, on time and within the projected costs.

    Applicants must meet the following requirements:
    At least three years' experience in the position Educational qualification: master's/specialist degree in electrical/electrotechnical engineering and/or electronic/telecommunications engineering.

    Experience in resource coordination Excellent knowledge of English The successful candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, planning and organisational skills, and the ability of work in a team.

    They must be proactive and innovation-focused and be prepared to travel within Italy.
