    We are looking for a Mergers and Acquisitions Manager to join the Strategy, Transformation and M&A team of KONE Eastern Europe and Mediterranean frontline. The frontline consists of 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, and Mediterranean region from e.g. Poland and Czechia through Balkans (e.g. Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania) to Greece, Cyprus and Israel.

    In this strategically important role you will define and execute the overall mergers and acquisitions strategy for the region, linked to the overall business strategy. You will own and manage the mergers & acquisitions portfolio, the process in how we do acquisitions, and the process for integrating acquired companies. You will work closely with KONE management teams in the 16 countries to identify potential targets, and to execute the agreed M&A and integration projects.

    In the Strategy, Transformation and M&A team your colleagues include e.g. portfolio manager looking after the overall project portfolio for Eastern Europe, and Mediterranean region, and a small team of project managers. In this role you will report to New Building Solutions and Strategy Director, a member of the regional leadership team.

    In more detailed, the main responsibilities in the role would include:

  • Defining the overall M&A strategy for KONE Eastern Europe, and Mediterranean region in close collaboration with regional leadership team and Europe Area Strategy & Transformation team.
  • Performing research, analyzing the market, and identifying opportunities across the 16 countries tobuild a pipeline of potential acquisition targets.
  • Managing M&A projects hands-on and participating hands-on in negotiations as applicable (taking into consideration language limitations); providing back-ground support / consultancy for the project teams within the target country.
  • Defining business cases for planned for M&A projects and following-up the realization of the business benefits during and after integration.
  • Analyzing transaction risks and creating a mitigation plan.
  • Developing and managing the M&A process, building on global KONE processes and practices.
  • Developing and managing integration process together with the Europe Area Strategy and Transformation team, including needed change management to ensure high employee engagement in both KONE and target company being integrated.
  • Managing the overall portfolio of planned and ongoing mergers & acquisition projects, and ongoing integration projects.
  • Collaborating closely with KONE legal teams and local country management teams, and project teams on the ongoing M&A and integration projects.
  • Establishing and cultivating relevant networks both within KONE as well as externally.
  • As this is a new role for the region, you will also have a chance to impact the final role description based on your expertise and experience.

    What we would expect from you:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with mergers and acquisitions, for example in a similar role in an industry or in investment banking, private equity, M&A consulting, venture capital funds.
  • Strong quantitative skills, cash flow modelling and valuation skills, accounting knowledge.
  • Project management skills.
  • Fluent working ability in English, other languages an asset.
  • A suitable academic degree.
  • Proactive and independent approach, ability to collaborate with business line and regional teams.
  • Data-driven and analytical approach.
  • Good communication, influencing & presentation skills, both for discussions with potential target companies as well as working with regional and country leadership.
  • Solid project management experience with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and manage numerous projects with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • International experience and a willingness to travel.
  • Strong personal integrity - high ethical standards and judgment.
