What you'll do:


The SCM Product Line Leader will be responsible to act as the primary conduit between the Product Lines and the SCM organization to ensure the best alignment in the region between these areas.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:


Coordinate and deploy the activities to manage from cradle to grave the supply chain for the assigned EMEA Product Line in alignment with the SCM functional processes and strategies.

This includes coordination through matrix organization over Advanced Purchasing, SCM Program Management, Category Management, Materials Management, Supplier Quality Engineering, Sales & Marketing but not limited to them.

This position reports solid line to the SCM Program Management & Total Cost-Out Manager.

The SCM Product Line Leader is primarily accountable to deliver SCM projects portfolio to the Product Lines, including but not limited to: provide the product BOM cost estimation, quotation and ownership,lead the early supplier engagement for NPI and during Pre-Launch phases, support the make or buy decision process, lead the outsourced parts industrialization process (from engineering drawings to manufacturing drawings), define the most appropriate sourcing decision for the BOM components based on Category and Product line strategy alignments, provide the Pro-Launch support across phases as appropriate, support negotiations, support the sourcing council timing in respect of Product Life cycle and supplier lead-times, manage and maintain the accuracy of data in the Global Procurement System (GPS).

With the support of the sourcing process, the SCM Product Line Leader introduces to the product line engineering function the latest technologies and capabilities of the supply base and identifies product lines emerging needs for outsource components.

The SCM Product Line Leader is also responsible to ensure consistent deployment of the regional and global procurement strategies within the Product Lines assigned and to ensure best alignment in the region between the SCM organization and the product line management.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Manage the project portfolio for the dedicated Product Line, including insourcing / outsourcing manufacturing of components, total cost-out initiatives (resourcing, VAVE) and new product introduction (NPI) and support Category Management team with the negotiation initiatives driving cost reduction
2) Manage the SCM related Product Line risk and opportunities, supervise, execute and report appropriate mitigation actions, including escalation of issues on SCM topics across the SCM and Product Line organizations
3) Achieve timely delivery of BOM quotes / estimates, tracks the BOM actual current costs during the project design and development to SOP, achieves BOM cost targets at SOP
4) Coordinate a consistent early supplier engagement during Pro Launch phase 0 to 3
5) Review component design industrialization with Product Engineering, Global and/or Regional Category Management (CM) and Supplier Development Engineering (SDE)
6) Direct strategic sourcing decisions through consensus building in operations, quality and engineering
7) Develop and implements key supplier quality strategies and approaches for raw material quality improvement in conjunction with the SDE as well as APQP execution to enable flawless launches.
8) Manage the change management process for SCM initiated changes, coordinates the SCM inputs to the CM process for non SCM initiated hanges
9) Establish key operating metrics developing appropriate objectives and performance expectations to ensure product line goal achievement
10) Manage and report SCM critical metrics through GPS and Pulse of Programs and consolidate SCM reporting per Product Line
11) Assess the Product Lines innovation needs with the SCM CMs, SDE and suppliers


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in business or specialized degree in program management or engineering degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience in supply chain management or related commercial areas
  • Fluency English. Any other European languages would be a plus
  • Understanding of key financial metrics
  • Project, Program and Portfolio management skills
  • Working knowledge of various commodities, cost drivers, and manufacturing techniques
  • VG EMEA products design and manufacturing knowledge
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work across the organization and motivate indirect team reports to performance
  • Ability to define problems, eliminate root cause and create supply chain solutions and/or process improvements
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective people/interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation, communication and customer care skills
  • Ability to think and act strategically
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to drive organizational change
