Team Overview and Job Responsibilities


Within Operations, in the Purchasing function, the Global Commodity Leader (GCL) for Drums & Packaging has responsibility to drive the sourcing strategy at global level related to Drums & Packaging.


The activity of this resource has a direct impact on the profitability of the business and on the stable flow of supply with regards to the commodities managed, therefore his/her performance is evaluated based on economic targets achievement and, considering the high impacts on the delivery, he/she will be evaluated on the service delivery stand point as well.

GCL manages the whole Purchasing flow for the assigned Commodities: from Sourcing to Procurement, using the necessary technicality (i.e. SAP flow) to correctly set the Procurement to Payment flow.


The Global Commodity Leader is responsible for the Global Commodity Strategy Definition and Management: Spend Analysis, Volume Bundling, Sourcing Pipeline, Cost Analysis & Benchmarking, Vendor Management, Financial Audit & Technical capability / Production assessment.

Sustainability is one of the criteria that will have to be taken into account by the GCL for Drums & Packaging, to ensure alignment with Company targets.

He/She will work in strict coordination with HQ team as well as local teams for both Procurement and Logistics functions.

This resource will report directly to the Group Purchasing Director for Non Raw Material.

Who are we looking for?- At least from 3 to 5 years of relevant sourcing and procurement experience possibly in multinational companies with a strong knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures- A master's degree in engineering or economics- Flexible mind set- Team working and problem-solving attitude- Capabilities in managing priorities and time- Strong negotiation skills- Fluent English both written and spoken Strong ability to network and work with international teams- Having worked in global / multinational environment with matrix organization will be a plus
