    About the Role

    We are seeking a Food Safety & Quality Supervisor - 3rd Shift to ensure compliance with all areas of manufacturing, develop and implement a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points Program, and coordinate training for employees in HACCP, GMPs, and other regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assure compliance to all areas of manufacturing, including raw materials, processing, finished product, storage, handling, and shipping.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points Program.
    • Approve all raw materials for use in production via sampling and inspection guidelines.
    • Monitor packaging containers for quality and capacity.
    • Coordinate with management in areas of safety and discipline as prescribed by company policy.
    • Take appropriate steps to ensure safety awareness among employees.
    • Coordinate training for all employees in HACCP, GMPs, and other regulations.
    • Ensure that preoperative sanitation inspections are conducted and proper follow-up occurs when unsanitary conditions exist.
    • Monitor established programs for incoming raw ingredients in the areas of production, sampling frequency, sample testing, and reporting of data to management.
    • Follow up with suppliers and/or buyers to ensure corrective action is taken.
    • Implement and monitor programs to ensure compliance to finished good specifications.
    • Assist FSQ Manager and/or Food Safety Specialist in maintenance and auditing of Quality Management System for both internal and customer produced products.
    • Supervise testing procedures to ensure that analysis methods are accurately followed.
    • Establish and maintain systematic sampling of in-process and finished product using acceptable techniques.
    • Keep records of all tests performed and provide management with copies of test records.
    • Aid and assist in areas of new product development, ensuring new product specifications meet quality assurance levels outlined by customer and marketing groups.
    • Review and work toward resolution of customer complaints.
    • Develop and write FSQ policies and procedures, and communicate and train against the policies and procedures established.
    • Assist the USDA inspector in charge in the resolution of Process Deficiency Records or any other issues.
    • Audit plant compliance to Federal and State regulatory standards and report any deviation to Quality Assurance and Plant Management.
    • Supervise, train, and develop subordinates if applicable.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
    • Minimum of five years related experience.
    • Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Windows Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and electronic general ledger systems.
    • HACCP Certification preferred.
    • Knowledge of math, chemistry, statistical process control, and microbiology necessary.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and product specifications.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to effectively present information at meetings and respond to employees, all levels of management, and related business units.
    • Experience in food or beverage manufacturing helpful.
    • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
