IFOM is an internationally recognized non-profit cancer research institute supported by the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC) based in Milan within a highly dynamic urban environment.

IFOM is hosted within a research campus shared with the European Institute of Oncology and the Italian Institute of Technology.

About the position:

IFOM ETS, the AIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology in Milan, Italy, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Program Manager for AIRC5x1000 Programs.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
- organizing Annual Retreats, Brainstorm and other project meetings, and drafting the related minutes;
- collecting Group leaders' contributions and drafting scientific reports of the work progress and achievements realized by the different research Units;
- monitoring deadlines and informing the Group leaders about them;
- managing administrative tasks related to expense monitoring, renewal requests, administrative and progress reports' preparation and submission to AIRC;
- supporting the communications and spread of information within the consortium;
- managing negotiations among partner institutions concerning the consortium agreement for the program and its updates;
- supporting the PI in the coordination of work-package activities;
- supporting the PI in disseminating program results through scientific publications, presentations, and others.

Required skills:

Previous experience in similar functions within international contexts and preferably in the field of scientific research will be a plus
Strong Project Management skills: planning, setting priorities, defining actions, proactivity in accomplishing business results
Strong oral and written English communication skills
Precision and accuracy
Capacity to face tight deadlines and handle stress conditions
Goaloriented with special attention to established timelines
Aptitude for teamwork, good interpersonal and problem solving skills

Educational experience:

MA or PhD in Life Sciences, Biology, Engineering or an equivalent academic qualification.

Language skills:
