Your 'day to day':
As Logistics Specialist you will be part of our Manufacturing department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.
A. and will be reporting to the Internal Logistics Operations Lead. The position will be based in Bologna.


A key responsibility will be to monitor, coordinate and prioritize activities of logistics operations to deliver business results in compliance to Sustainability, Quality and Legal requirements.

You will be responsible for all materials delivery along the shift within manufacturing area, ensuring these activities are performed in a timely, efficient and proactive manner, in control and according applicable law and practices and according to Company strategy.


The Specialist is the single point of contact between manufacturing and logistics service providers, so you will facilitate decision making and communication in order to guarantee the production continuity.


You will guarantee the inventory reliability and material traceability through proper use of the systems SAP and WMS within the Service Provider team.


Finally, you will support and fuel Logistics Team loss elimination and process improvements, providing data, reports and analysis about failures, events and losses.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all LSP and PMI people working in the warehouses comply with all PMI and legal standards, policies and guidelines related to Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability to prevent personnel, asset or societal loss. Act and promote an interdependent and transparent safety culture in LSP and PMI internal logistics team by fostering the utilization of preventive/predictive approach in line with Internal Logistics RTT/Open+/IOS.
  • Guarantee uninterrupted support in delivery of materials to manufacturing area. Ensure a steady waste removal and disposal process when applicable, performed and developed in a cost efficient manner and targeted to reach more friendly environmental process.
  • Secure uninterrupted provision of world class customer service via replenishment on time. Monitor, coordinate and prioritize the 3rd party LSPs operations, thanks to the knowledge of both the manufacturing and the logistics status and contingencies. Monitor & Control shift performance of external partners according to contractual terms and PMI standards.
  • Identify, propose and deploy LE initiatives to achieve loss elimination in warehousing processes. Continuously monitor applicable KPIs and take corrective actions to ensure budget and internal business targets are met.
  • Promote and validate loss elimination initiatives/Kaizens raised by teams by executing adequate risk assessments. Take responsibility for the completion of own training plan and comply with the requirements established in the Qualification Matrix. Build effective networks relationships with production lines and other key stakeholders across the business in order to achieve outstanding business outcomes.

Who we're looking for:

  • College/University Degree in Logistics, Commerce or Engineering
  • Previous experience in Logistics will be considered a plus
  • Knowledge in MS Office Package.
  • Knowledge in SAP, LES/MES, IMEL
