Junior Predective Testing - Milano, Italia - Pirelli
Descrizione
The resource will be part of the predictive testing team based at the R&D Headquarters in Milan within the Material Laboratory.
The team's main mission is:
- to develop experiments that can relate tire performance (such as wear and friction) to material properties.
- to run numerical models to interpret these experiments and consequently identify main levers able to influence the material properties.
- to model final behavior of material in order to predict/anticipate their performances once applied to the final product (the Tire).
To achieve this, the predictive testing team also proactively collaborates with internal R&D divisions (e.g. indoor & outdoor testing, FEA modeling, compounding and product pre-development) and external stakeholders (e.g. universities, research centers and machinery/tool suppliers) to widely take advantage of open innovation opportunities.
The resource will support the team and will take care of the following activities:
- Daily support to the predictive testing team with advanced data/statistical analysis of the experimental activities, data analytics and modeling, computational research activity (Matlab and Python).
- Development and update physicalbased models to predict wear, friction, fatigue resistance of rubber compounds and regularly evaluate the quality and correctness of these models.
- Management and coordination of projects with internal and external stakeholders, Interaction with other corporate business functions.
- Reporting activities, drafting technical documentation, and knowhow sharing.
- Development of new laboratory tests and measurement methodologies.
Required skills and experiences:
- Master's Degree in Materials Science/Physics/Materials Engineering.
- Passionate about material research and daily R&D activities.
- Data analysis for result processing/data mining/data visualization.
- Numerical coding skills and experience with Python and MATLAB (at least one) including data manipulation and statistical libraries.
- Fluent in English, oral and written.
- Project management skills.
- Openminded and proactive in looking at new unknown challenges.
- Curious about new approaches and committed to continuously increase technical knowledge.
