JR46865 Vimercate Laboratory Manager


As a Manager at GEL Vimercate laboratory, you will be responsible for the management and development of direct reports to enable superior functional service delivery.

You will be responsible for managing and improving functional area performance by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build and execute service strategies aligned to corporate strategic objectives and Business needs.

You will assist with improving individual capability by conducting performance appraisals with team members to create goals and development plans.

You will monitor performance metrics to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities.

Other responsibilities include ensuring organizational compliance to company policies and regulations, as well as to departmental procedures, and providing organizational leadership for building and implementing department strategies, processes, and policy through active participation in functional teams and projects, as well as mentoring other functional leaders through collaboration and the development of sustainably successful solutions.

Manage Team Member Performance

Manage Functional Area Service Delivery

  • Influence and develop functional strategies
  • Provide consultation on work execution and problem solving
  • Assist in the troubleshooting of escalated issues and provide coaching for resolution
  • Coordinate and communicate departmental policy and procedures
  • Monitor for adherence to departmental policy and procedures and provide feedback
  • Ensure team members are properly trained according to department compliance and work requirements
  • Manage Internal budgets
  • Manage, engage in, and promote continuous cost reduction and quality improvement efforts
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements
  • Develop, communicate, and monitor performance metrics
  • Coordinate relations and relevant actions with laboratory service supports like (but not only) Facilities, Procurement, Logistica, IT, Finance, Security
  • Technical reference and coordination with laboratory service Suppliers
  • Collaborating with Global GEL network to sustain GEL initiatives, projects, WIGs.
  • Accountable to prepare and support Laboratory Audits.
  • Field capital and space requests from various engineering groups assessing worldwide inventory, location, and footprint
  • Define and implement elite processes for equipment maintenance to drive equipment uptime and efficiency
Provide Organizational Leadership to Build Functional Strategies, Processes, and Policy

  • Create and execute strategies according to requirements (e.g. stakeholder, regulatory, corporate, departmental)
  • Monitor performance to plan
  • Actively participate in or lead functional teams and projects
  • Mentor functional leaders
  • Collaborate with peers to construct global solutions
  • Manage conflict and identify escalation paths
  • Align internal strategies and communicate line of sight to corporate strategic objectives
Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions

  • Identify and understand service requirements
  • Communicate capabilities to ensure stakeholder expectations are met
  • Develop metrics to clarify deliverables
  • Provide functional area expertise to customers and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate functional services with peer group and internal global partners
  • Manage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Initiate and sustain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders are all BU and Engineering groups in operating in Vimercate.
Ensure a Safe, Compliant, and Ethical Work Environment

  • Communicate requirements to applicable team members and external stakeholders
  • Oversee execution of mandatory training for direct reports
  • Identify and resolve and / or repor
