    Location: IIT-CNST, Via Rubattino 81, 20134 Milan, Italy

    YOUR TEAM

    You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where physicist, chemist, biomedical and electrical engineers collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research. This position is part of a joint lab between IIT and an industrial partner towards the realization of a cost-effective yet highly sensitive product to be used for extensive screening of antigens.

    Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

    ·Design and optimization of carbon-based printed electrolyte-gated field effect transistors

    ·Bio-functionalization of the sensing gate electrode

    ·Validation of the biosensor

    This open position is financed by the project COPAN Italia S.p.a.

    WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE

    ·A PhD in either Chemistry, Physics or Material Science. A PhD in Biomedical/Electronic Engineering and similar disciplines will also be considered, if competence in bioelectronics devices and biosensors is demonstrated

    ·Proven laboratory skills on the fabrication and characterization of carbon-based/organic transistors

    ·Previous experience on bio-functionalization of surfaces such as gold electrode or semiconductors is a plus

    ·A strong publication record

    ·Ability to properly report, organize and publish research data

    ·Documented experience in coaching junior scientists

    ·Good command in spoken and written English

    EXTRA AWESOME

    ·Experience on biosensors

    ·Knowledge of Surface Plasmon Resonance

    ·Experience in international laboratories

    ·Good communication skills

    ·Strong problem solving attitude

    ·High motivation to learn
