    Overview

    Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the powerhouse behind Microsoft's cloud services. Our focus is on delivering top-notch infrastructure to support cloud operations. As Microsoft's Cloud business grows, our team is dedicated to acquiring, developing, and constructing Data Center facilities. We are developing strategies with our Leasing Team to scale our business for the future.

    The Infrastructure Planning & Acquisition (IPA) team is responsible for acquiring and planning Data Center Infrastructure to expand Microsoft's cloud infrastructure. The Land Acquisition Team, part of IPA, is accountable for delivering and pre-positioning Data Center real estate for Microsoft's cloud infrastructure.

    The Land Acquisitions Manager plays a crucial role in acquiring land, even before zoning is in place. Responsibilities include researching, coordinating land opportunities, engaging with brokers, developers, and internal teams, and accelerating market growth through proactive engagement.

    This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to one of the largest data center portfolios. You'll help shape and enhance our infrastructure in various markets, build relationships, evaluate property solutions, engage with municipalities, and drive impact for Microsoft's infrastructure portfolio.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated success in negotiation and deal-making
    • Ability to negotiate legal documents
    • Strong communication skills
    • Understanding of real estate, technical, and construction requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields
    • Positive attitude
    • Proven track record of team influence
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced Degree in relevant fields
    • Experience in the data center industry
    • Transaction, project, or program management experience
    • Knowledge of real estate transactions and development processes
    • Understanding of technical requirements

    Responsibilities

    We are seeking a dynamic individual to help build Microsoft's online services infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include developing relationships, market analysis, property evaluation, deal negotiation, and contract management.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate, negotiate, and recommend acquisitions
    • Manage the land acquisition process
    • Coordinate with various teams for evaluation
    • Manage multiple assignments
    • Contribute to the long-term delivery strategy
    • Ability to travel internationally
