    Our real-time simulation and professional driving simulator solutions include static deskside solutions, through to full-scale driver-in-the-loop dynamic simulators. We deliver turnkey solutions to enable transportation industry OEMs, suppliers, research centers, motorsport teams and universities to accelerate product development. This includes supplying proprietary software, hardware, services, and an open framework for customization.

    Virtual Test employs 250 highly skilled colleagues worldwide, and has offices in Germany, Italy, France, UK, China, Japan, and the USA, as well as a broad network of worldwide channel partners.

    We are looking for a talented to join our team. The purpose of this role is to be a key member of the driving simulator team at VI-grade SimCenter Udine facility, based in Udine, Italy. The candidate will be involved in the preparation and management of all SimCenter activities that will be performed on the entire range of VI-grade driving simulators.

    The job will focus on working with customers to make them successful with VI-grade's driving simulator technology, playing a fundamental role in maintaining and operating driving simulators, including assisting customer sessions for both simulator evaluations and service projects.

    In addition, the candidate will play a support role for existing customers in maintaining and using simulators throughout. He/she will contribute to the R&D projects for the development of new features, facilitating the implementation and use of VI-grade technology and solutions through examples, demos and real-world applications.

    The candidate will also support VI-grade SimCenter activities, with focus on driving simulator experiences. This role includes a high degree of customer interaction for technical support, demonstrations, project execution for simulator solutions and multi-attribute simulators, working with a variety of customers with varying interest and needs for simulator technology.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Static and Dynamic Simulator operations
  • Support customers hands-on simulator experiences and projects
  • System operations, including maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, and development
  • Preparation of customer demonstration activities and rental projects
  • Simulator data management and performance analysis
  • Assistance of internal activities for ongoing research, developing VI-grade driving simulator to further enhance the realism and correlation between the real car on track and the DIL/HIL
  • Compilation of detailed reports from findings from simulation session, testing data and DIL results
  • Support implementation and testing of SiL, DiL and HiL systems for demonstrations or for customers in project work
  • Development of driving simulator methodologies & KPIs
  • Qualifications:

  • MS in mechanical engineering (vehicle engineering preferred)
  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics principals and modelling
  • Good experience of data analysis techniques
  • Understanding of control systems in theory and practice (experience with Simulink preferred)
  • Exposure (direct experience preferred) to real-time dynamic analysis tools
  • Exposure (direct experience preferred) using CAE tools for vehicle dynamics and/or NVH analysis
  • Understanding of systems engineering principals and their application for problem solving in mechanical, electrical and/or software engineering
  • Programming experience: high level MATLAB skills required
  • Basic IT experience is a plus
  • Direct experience with HIL/SIL systems a plus

  • Ability to be self-motivated in interacting with internal teams, partners, and customers
