Scope of Job:


Working with the two Heads of Trade Sales to deliver budgeted trade volume and revenue principally for Gardaland Resort and Heide Park Resort.


Focus on driving international guests principally in the package tour channels through business development and key account management of key Inbound trade partners.

This role will require significant international travel attending the various trade shows to promote and sell the two Resorts.


Key Objectives & Responsibilities:


Commercial

  • Deliver central trade volume, revenue and yield to budget for agreed attraction/territory remit
  • Responsible for trade sales brokered by key clients such as Travel Agencies, Tour Operators and DMCs.
  • Establish and execute a robust sales plan for the allocated trade channels to deliver Inbound trade volume, revenue and yield targets for key markets.
  • Deliver agreed Trade Mix to the businesses of both parks.
  • Manage cost of sales and develop commercial efficiencies through effective pricing and commission negotiations based on Central Trade channel strategy.
  • Ensure consistent Trade Partner Channel classification for all sites.
  • Develop new Trade packages to suit market needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate weekly, monthly and annual trade sales developing and implementing tactical sales activations as appropriate to align deliverables to budgeted expectations
  • Develop sales strategies for key accounts delivering mutual sales and marketing benefits.
  • Support marketing teams in the production of required trade specific communication materials.
  • Continue to drive "Fewer, Bigger, Better"
  • Strategy and move smaller Partners to a Channel Manager.

Communication

  • Report weekly sales acitivity to an agreed format on behalf of their strategic accounts to the two Heads of Sales, reflecting on particular wins and challenges and forecasting potential changes to deliverables.
  • Collate a monthly sales report based on supplied analytics focusing on key clients and sales from key inbound markets
  • Establish an effective communication plan to ensure all stakeholders are clear on sales activation, operational progress, marketing plans and timings.
  • Work with the two Head of Trade Sales, appropriate Sales & Marketing Managers and Revenue Managers to agree the annual pricing matrix with tactical line items to support agility in the market
  • Represent Merlin at key approved industry Inbound events, trade fair and workshops.
  • Organize and attend regular sales calls with key clients, either in presence or remotely.
  • Deliver client product training and presentations to support third party knowledge and sales development

Resource Management

  • Manage time well to reflect the nuances and regional requirements of the role are met whilst ensuring the role remains tenable.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all internal and external forms of correspondence
  • Managepersonal expenditure, ensuring costs incurred and redeemded are reflective of the business driven and are in line with budget
  • Deliver marketing activation focusing on core messages and distribution channels

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:


Essential:


  • Proven ability to manage and develop sales growth to an agreed budget
  • Have minimum 3+ years sales account management
  • Have a good commercial accumen and the ability to report with accuracy in business English and Italian
  • Proficient use of Excel to create and update reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills and being able to adapt style to different environments
  • Be capable negotiatior, communicator and influencer
  • Passionate and driven individual, who can demonstrate their enthusiasm for B2B sales
  • A proactive and creative approach to problem solving supported by solid data
  • Flexibility in adapting to fastchanging priorities and fast paced work environment
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to multitask and hit the ground running within a hands on role
  • You thrive on ownership and accountability and have a passion for personal growth and development
  • Educated to Bachelors Degree or equivalent level

Recommended:

Tourism/ Leisure / entertainment experience.

Business fluent in German


Business/Working Environment

  • This role will be located out of Gardaland but will be a field based role and travelling most weeks
  • The deliverables are regional in nature; flexibility in working hours to meet relevant time zones is a key requirement.
Time management is therefore an essential skill to ensure deliverables are met and working hours remain tenable.
