WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Defend company's Intellectual Property interest and secure its legal protection
Prepare present briefs and arguments before national and supranational Patent Offices or before the courts dealing on patent matters
Advice upon the risk of infringement of patents, settlement of IP claims, negotiations of IP clauses in contracts

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a fully qualified Patent Attorney in the country where the individual is to practice and/or as European Patent Attorney or undertaking the qualification provides proactive business orientated and costeffective IP advice and services to protect company's innovations.
Support company's IP activities through education, advice, drafting and negotiation support to Functions (engineering, purchasing, Product development, Sales and Marketing)
Carry out patent investigations, state of the art searched, freedom to operate studies, patent landscape studies and prepare patent opinions.
Ensure that the Company is not exposed to major IP risks by advising upon the risk of infringement of IP (patents, design, confidentiality and copyrights), settlement of IP claims, design around options, monitor competitors' IP activities.
Provide and manage the company patent portfolio
Provide professional advice on patent and IP matters (review and invention disclosures), and in the preparation and/or presentation of briefs and arguments before national and supranational Patent Offices or before the Courts dealing on patent matters
Ensure regular information and reporting to Technology executives
Carry out patent due diligence and patent asset valuations.
Instruct, approve and retain any external IP counsel worldwide.

YOUR KEY COMPETENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

An undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical, computer science, software, computer engineering or related engineering fields
Experience working with IT/Digital/technology customers is considered a plus
Knowledge of the various IP laws (Patent, designs, copyrights, knowhows and confidential information) in the main jurisdictions of interest to CNH. Qualified or Part qualified European patent attorney.
Understanding of best practice in relation to IP governance and risk mitigation in view of IP risks from third parties.
Excellent communication and computer skills (MS Office, Patent Management software).
