General Role


As Hermès role models, In Store Trainers partner with the Store Management to ensure that corporate values and standards will be embodied by the team, supporting their development on product knowledge and core competences, empowering them to collectively grow in the company.

The In Store Trainer is in charge of onboarding of new hires and responsible of product training sessions in store.

The In Store Trainer is based in the Milan boutique, it is required to travel and he/she will be responsible for the boutiques in Italy and the one in Greece, in Athens.

  • Training planning and implementation
  • Liaise with Learning & Development Manager to adapt and implement corporate programs for the store, ensuring consistency, proper deployment, and involvement of all target participants
  • Partner with Store Management and Learning & Development Manager to agree upon a training calendar consistent with store plannings and major events
  • Partner with Store Management to suggest potential training needs to HQ in coordination with Learning & Development Manager, for individuals and functions, after a proper needs analysis
  • Suggest and provide programs follow up to ensure a continuous learning experience for the teams
  • Keep updated on local activities and market trends to share useful information, embedding them in fast meetings or training sessions
  • Collect feedbacks from the team on training needs, share them with Store Management and report to Learning & Development Manager
  • Systematically collect feedback on training content and participation to ensure continuous improvement of the programmes
  • Be available to support other stores in training activities when required
  • Evaluate effectiveness and compliance of trainings, through KPIs, and provide reports to management, determining impact of training on employee behaviour and skills
  • Coordinate all aspects of training courses and workshops including schedules, logistics and materials
  • Analyse and incorporate new training methods and techniques
  • On the floor training
  • Conduct onboarding training sessions/induction program for new hires in partnership with Learning & development manager, managers and in store trainer ambassadors
  • Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of new hire training and onboarding
  • Support and conduct product training, including seasonal product training, product orientation, and fashion training focusing on styling, sales rituals, material and know how. Works closely with merchandising team, Learning & Development Manager and Paris fashion Métiers to develop the appropriate training plan/content to focus and support related product category's sales growth.
  • Conduct training sessions to the team on relevant topics for the store activities (e.g. new tools, procedures, special projects, new roles onboarding, products, etc.)
  • Activate individuals and teams with roleplaying activities to simulate difficult customer cases
  • Ensure active participation of the team to in store training activities and follow ups in partnership with store management
  • Encourage team to share best practices and areas of improvement through fast meetings or during morning briefings
  • Coordinate morning brief planning, suggesting content and ideas to animate the meeting
  • Maintain updated track records of training participants, materials and tools that have been used for each training session or learning experience
  • Take part in Train the Trainer sessions to share practices with the training community and nourish the relationship with the Paris fashion Métiers
Profile

  • Must have:
  • Outgoing and balanced personality, good emphatic, social and communication skills, ability to work in autonomy as well as a proactive, professional and positive attitude.
  • Good understanding of luxury brands and Hermès culture: understand the peculiarity of Hermès in Retail Industry.
  • Excellent organizational and management skills and ability to develop professional behaviors and high level of sales and customer service attitude.
  • Excellent computer skills, MS Office, excel and Power point.
  • Fluency in Italian and English, written and spoken. Knowledge of French will be considered a plus.
  • Dedication to outstanding level of service, accuracy, diplomatic skills and discretion complete the profile.
