- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of optimization models to enhance Siemens Mobility's planning software.
- Employ mathematical programming software tools to devise solutions.
- Collaborate with senior staff and multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and objectives.
- Analyze data and take part in workshops to support the development of novel optimization approaches.
- Stay ahead of the latest research and trends in optimization and operations research.
- Actively seek ways to improve models, algorithms, and processes
- Engage in international projects and collaborate with teams from various countries
- You have less than 30 years of age, in accordance with the Italian apprenticeship contract
- Recent PhD or PhD candidate nearing completion in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields with a thesis focused on optimization. Candidates with Master's degree candidates may also be considered.
- Strong foundation in mathematical programming and familiarity with optimization software tools (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi, etc).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Programming skills in language of choice (Python, Java, C++ etc)
- Proficiency in English and Italian
- Team player ability, strong communication & interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work in a changing environment
