Director of Finance – Luxury Hospitality Asset | Venice, Italy

(Fluent Italian and English speaking is essential)

We are conducting an exclusive and confidential search for an experienced Director of Finance to join one of Italy's most prestigious luxury hospitality assets, located in the iconic city of Venice.

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a landmark property combining heritage, international visibility, and strong investment backing, playing a key role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making.

You will act as a key business partner to the General Manager and ownership, ensuring robust financial governance, performance optimisation, and alignment with corporate objectives.

The Opportunity

As Director of Finance, you will lead the full financial function of the asset, overseeing financial planning, reporting, compliance, and performance analysis.

This is a highly strategic and hands-on role, offering strong exposure to ownership and corporate leadership, and the opportunity to actively contribute to the asset's long-term success and value creation.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

Financial Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the financial strategy of the property in alignment with ownership and corporate objectives
• Act as a key advisor to the General Manager on financial performance and business decisions
• Identify risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Develop long-term financial models to support strategic planning
• Monitor performance, analyse variances, and implement corrective actions

Financial Operations & Control

• Oversee all financial operations including accounting, reporting, and controls
• Ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial information
• Maintain strong internal controls and financial discipline

Reporting & Corporate Alignment

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to corporate and ownership
• Act as the key liaison with corporate finance teams
• Provide meaningful financial insights to support decision-making

Compliance, Audit & Governance

• Ensure compliance with Italian accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes
• Maintain strong governance and financial compliance

Cash Flow & Performance Management

• Monitor and manage cash flow and liquidity
• Optimise financial efficiency and working capital
• Support initiatives to enhance profitability and asset value

Systems & Process Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and reporting processes
• Support digitalisation and efficiency initiatives

What We Are Looking For

This role requires a commercially minded finance leader with strong hospitality experience and the ability to operate in a high-profile environment.

You will likely bring:

• Significant experience in senior finance roles within luxury hospitality
• Strong financial leadership, reporting, and compliance expertise
• Proven experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Excellent business partnering and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Experience working within international structures is highly valued

Essential Qualifications:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) are highly valued
• Fluent Italian and English required
