Education required:
Master of Science Degree in CTF, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, and similar. Master's Thesis in the analytical chemistry field.


Other requirements:


  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Italian fluency useful
  • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office
  • At least 6 months of university laboratory experience in chromatographic techniques, SDS-Page, western blot, colorimetric assays
  • Some record in working as part of a team and network with different functions
  • Being precise and resultoriented
  • Positive mindset, open and transparent

What will you do?:


Context
The intern will support the activities currently ongoing in the Analytical Development unit within Technical Development department in GVGH.

Our team is responsible to perform analytical characterization of the vaccines currently under development, at the level of the single antigens and of the final formulations.

Quality attributes of the antigens and of the vaccine formulations are also assessed during stability program in real time and in accelerated conditions.


The intern will develop ability to work in a matrix organization and in regulated process, by interacting with different units and functions.


Project intern description, main purpose, activities and expected results:

  • Support the physico-chemical analysis of vaccines in terms of final formulations, and of antigens, such as proteins and polysaccharides.
  • Understand and follow work instructions and/or standard procedures
  • Support the activities according to stability studies under formal preapproved protocols
  • Support the collection of the data and the drafting of certificates of analysis and of protocol reports to ensure a timely sharing of the scientific data

Competencies the intern will develop thanks to the internship experience:

  • Acquire competence in physico-chemical analysis such as different chromatographic techniques, colorimetric assays, gel electrophoresis and western blot
  • Analyze and report results according to established policies and procedures
  • Maintain required documentation for processes and equipments
  • Undertake all obligatory ongoing training programs required to meet GSK standards including Ethics, Business practices, Health, Safety and the Environment policies
  • Team work
