Generali is a major player in the global insurance industry - a strategic and highly important sector for the growth, development and welfare of modern societies.


Within Group Sustainability & Social Responsibility we are looking for a Sustainability Specialist with an in-depth understanding of key developments in sustainable finance 'beyond requlation' with a strong capacity to work across different fields, functions and cultures to support the development of the Group Sustainability framework.


Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Conduct a materiality assessment, including the engagement of stakeholders according to the best practices and international guidelines (e.g. AccountAbility 1000), following regulation, international guidelines (e.g. GRI/SASB/IIRS/IFRS framework) and best practices
  • Respond to and interact with ESG rating agencies such as SAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment (DJSI), MSCI ESG, Sustainalytics, letc: coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure company's performance, ensure a smooth process, create a "big picture' overview of requests,performance and input for the development of sustainability within the company
  • Assist with external reporting according to Sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, IIRC, SASB, CSR-D) by overseeing information (collection, consolidation and monitoring, benchmarking
  • Monitor the development of new regulation on Sustainability to clarify impacts, deadlines and internal stakeholders to be involved

Must have:

  • Master Degree in Sustainability, Economics/Business, Environmental Science, Engineering or similar (a quantitative discipline would be an advantage)
  • 8 or more years of work experience in sustainability, also in the financial sector
  • Proven knowledge of regulation, international guidelines and best practices on stakeholder engagement and materiality assessment
  • Indepth and critical understanding of ESG raters' requests (inter alia S&P Sustainability Assessment, MSCI, Sustainalytics, Vigeo) and nonfinancial reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, IIRC, SASB)
  • Familiarity with EU regulations on Sustainable Finance
  • Strong command of English and Italian
  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint is a must
