Sous Chef - Plating Specialist
Location:
Podere Spedalone, Val D'Orcia, Tuscany, Italy
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef with expertise in plating to join our culinary team at Podere Spedalone, a renowned Agriturismo in the picturesque Val D'Orcia Valley.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create visually stunning and appetizing dishes
- Take a lead role in the plating and presentation of dishes
- Ensure consistency in plating standards and adherence to culinary guidelines
- Work closely with the culinary team to coordinate timely and efficient dish preparation
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on proper plating techniques
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist in inventory management and food cost control
- Contribute to menu development and innovation
- Uphold high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Plating Specialist in a highvolume restaurant or hotel setting
- Strong passion for culinary arts and creative plating
- Extensive knowledge of various plating techniques and trends
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fastpaced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
- Fluent in English, additional languages are a bonus
