Purpose
The Global Category Manager Technical Development joining the Global R&D Technical Development in Global Procurement will be part of a young and lively small team.
He/She will play an active role in our company's journey in the development of R&D Pipeline supporting core R&D activities outsourced through CROs / Service Providers managing the relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe Global Category Manager Technical Development will:
Design customized supplier qualification and selection process for R&D GTD Service Providers in conjunction with R&D GTD, Global Category Lead Technical Development and R&D QA
Support the supplier qualification and manage the selection process in compliance with Global R&D Procurement Corporate procedures and direct involvement of R&D GTD departments in order to identify CROs/CDMOs matching technical and business requirements
Lead bidding process for the delivery of R&D GTD outsourcing activities, including oversight of competitive bids and cost negotiation with suppliers when needed
Negotiating contracts terms, price and payment schedule, leading the final contract definition and execution
Define R&D GTD Service Providers validated suppliers' pool
Manage vendor relationships and issues resolution in co-operation with the relevant Chiesi Corporate R&D GTD departments. Monitoring vendor performance according to applicable MSAs, contracts and Chiesi SOPs
Keep business intelligence through monitoring outsourcing environment & awareness of industry trends
Supervise and execute SAP passive cycle activities pertinent to the area of responsibility, developing optimization activities where applicable
Support R&D GTD in the development of the «Outsourcing Culture» deploying trainings on demand and granting a constant, open support for any specific R&D GTD need in the area of competence
Supervise R&D GTD external service providers' activities and projects devoted to the area of competence, granting the relevant execution in compliance with contractual terms and deliverables
Experience Required
Preferably +3 years of experience in a CRO/CDMO or Pharmaceutical company, possibly in the R&D Procurement / Outsourcing Management / Contract Management area.
Education
Scientific/Economic degree or higher
Languages
Fluent in English.
Technical Skills
Basic understanding of pricing and contracting models for Outsourced services, of cost drivers and benchmarks;
Basic understanding of R&D processes at Corporate and local level;
Basic understanding of key drivers of Corporate - Local relationship, possibly with direct experience.
