Duties

• Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials. Establishes deadlines, priorities, work sequences and plans work assignments based on general work schedules
• Coordinates work with supporting or related work units controlled by other supervisors. Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects; redirects individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work.
• Participates with superiors in initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs and estimates.
• Investigates works related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determine causes. Implement corrective actions to resolve work problems. Recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations
• Supports and explains management programs to subordinates. Determines training needs and arranges for accomplishment; sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinates. Assures safety and housekeeping practices are observed.
