    Assistant Director of Academics

    American Leadership Academy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Director of Academics at our Anthem South 7-12 campus located in Florence, AZ.

    This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing the academic experience for students and supporting faculty in delivering high-quality education. The Assistant Director will collaborate with the Director and other educational leaders to implement curriculum standards, develop innovative teaching practices, and foster a culture of academic excellence.

    • Observe teachers in assigned content areas and provide constructive feedback.
    • Utilize coaching strategies as necessary to support teacher growth and development.
    • Meet with parents and staff members as needed to address concerns and promote open communication.
    • Support the Campus director and teachers in areas outside of academics, such as student discipline and traffic duty.
    • Oversee the completion of lesson plans, grades, meeting minutes, agendas, newsletters, and other critical tasks.
    • Assist the Campus Director in creating agendas for staff meetings and provide training as needed.
    • Work with teachers to ensure successful completion of retention/credit loss procedures.
    • Collaborate with the counseling department and District Registrar to complete schedule changes based on student enrollment, staffing, and academic concerns.
    • Assist in hiring paraprofessionals and teachers.
    • Attend and lead summer training sessions as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.

    The ideal candidate will possess leadership and team collaboration skills, positive interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills, and self-management to effectively handle multiple responsibilities. They should also be committed to going above and beyond when necessary to reach goals. Additionally, strong planning, execution, and problem-solving skills, self-motivation, dependability, and a lifelong commitment to learning are essential.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
    • K-12 classroom experience.
    • Management experience in education or related field.
    • Lifelong learner.
    • Organized.
    • Communicates effectively.
    • Positive Team-Player, collaborative.

    Preferrred Requirements

    • 7-12 History/English/Math/Science/AP classroom experience.
    • AP Experience.
    • Master's degree in Education or assigned field.
    • Knowledge of all state and federal academic mandates.
    • Knowledge of state funding for all academic programs.
    • Gifted/Talented Endorsement or experience.
    • Special Education Certification or experience.
    • 504 Coordinator experience.
    • ELL Endorsement or experience.
