Role purpose The Vodafone Italy Business Intelligence and Big Data team is the owner of the Vodafone Italy data stack which includes Business Intelligence and Big Data system.

It provides data and services to different stakeholders from predefined reports for business users, to self-service reporting for advanced BI users and analytics platform for data scientists.

The platform we manage answers to multiple business needs leveraging on standard BI and ETL tools as well as on modern real time data streaming tools.

The IT Business Intelligence Data Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of data processing and storing, as well as how data is shared and consumed by different entities in the company.

You will tightly work with source systems owners, visualization architects and business user to define the best solution for the company.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

Understand the data, how to collect and transform them inside the BI environment to optimize and extend ETL processes
Design the E2E architecture from source to reporting tool
Design and develop extensions to the data warehouse working on the E2E data pipeline
Design and develop integrations (batch extractions or real time feeds) from BI towards downstream systems
Govern a team of outsourced and offshore developers during the entire project, from requirement collection to development, testing, and deployment.
Work with business users to ensure we can support and anticipate company's data needs
Manage the projects within Business Intelligence team to achieve the business requirements within the agreed timelines and high quality
Collectrequirements and come up with technical solution to bring them to life
Comply with company data governance, data standards and software development methodology in the delivery
Provide input to long range data warehousing plans & designs current ETL systems to be in alignment with the long range objectives
Recommend approaches, lead design and create solid technical solutions for complex business scenarios Core competencies, knowledge and experience
Understand enterprise architecture and enhance BI systems to provide the necessary data in the best way according to the IT strategy and the business needs.

Together with the team you will work on the enhancement and optimization of the E2E data pipeline handling terabytes of data every day - Broad knowledge of ETL and reporting systems, a passion for data and you will leverage them to design and adapt the existing tools and processes Must have technical / professional qualifications:

Experience in platform management, data security and common programming language (Java or Python)
Knowledge of SQL, NOSQL database, preferably on distributed systems (Teradata, Cloudera and/or Google cloud)
Experience in complex data pipeline batch and streaming (preferably Kafka, Data Fusion, ODI, Microstrategy)
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering and/or other STEM degrees
Working experience in similar roles
Attitude to plan and organize work to deliver project as agreed
Great communication skills and stakeholder's management
Fluent English (both speaking and writing)
Knowledge of Cloud Data Architecture for DataWareHousing
Proactive in the day by day working tasks and attitude in acquiring new skills
