The Hoxton made its way to Italy

  • In May 2021 we opened The Hoxton, Rome and we're now looking for an experienced

Host/Hostess to play a crucial part in successfully bringing a new concept to the Italian market.


Reporting to the R&B Manager and to the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible to give a warm welcome to our guests by making them feel at home, ensure they have a memorable experience throughout their visit.


The Hoxton, Rome is our 10th Hoxton and boasts 192 bedrooms of different sizes, a large coffee bar and takeaway counter, light-flooded restaurant, and The Apartment (our unique meetings & events space concept).


What you'll do
:


  • Take reservations over the phone, handle payments and, when necessary, support the team with service
  • Anticipate our guests' needs and always look for the best solution to exceed our guests' expectations
  • Work closely with the rest of the team and help create a positive and fun environment
  • Pay attention to dissatisfied guests and respond appropriately to ensure their satisfaction
  • Adopt an attitude aimed at problem solving
  • Master the use of the online reservation system ad be sure to add all necessary information to reservations
  • Notify the outlet manager in the case of group reservations of more than 6 people
  • Distribute reservations evenly among waiters on duty and share all necessary information
  • Inquire with the kitchen about dishes of the day and any shortages
  • Answer the phone within three rings, politely, using a friendly and informative tone
  • Make sure you are thoroughly familiar with all menus served in R&B outlets: ingredients, preparation, presentation, prices, dishes of the day
  • Interact in a friendly, serviceoriented manner with guests and colleagues

What we're looking for
:


  • Hotel or leisure related experience in a similar role would be a plus
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills, competent computer skills
  • You jump out of bed every morning, fizzing with energy and jazzed about what you're doing today
  • You get us. You know our hotels, maybe you've hung out in our bars and possibly regretted that last cocktail the next morning
  • Excellent understanding of the English language
  • You're not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get things done.
  • You're up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • You're looking for a place where you can be you: no clones in suits here.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
  • Passion for hospitality whether that's a drink, a meal, an event or a bed for the night.
  • If we got stuck in a lift together, we'd have a good time and share a few laughs.
