EMEA Purchasing Indirect Commodity Specialist
We are looking for a EMEA Indirect Commodity Specialist for OPEX Categories (Energy, Functional Services and Facility Management) to join the Indirect Commodity team, reporting directly to the EMEA Indirect Commodity Manager.
As the Indirect Commodity Specialist for OPEX Categories you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement of specific commodities within their region.
This role ensures cost-effective sourcing, supplier performance, and strategic alignment with global procurement goals. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive value, mitigate risks, and support operational excellence.Your Responsibilities will be:
Commodity Strategy Development:
Develop and implement regional commodity strategies aligned with global objectives, market
trends, and business needs.
Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews.
Cost Optimization:
Lead cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, value engineering, and alternative sourcing
strategies.
Market Intelligence:
Monitor market dynamics, pricing trends, and supply risks for assigned commodities. Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Contract Negotiation:
Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, quality, logistics, and finance teams to support product development, production, and continuous improvement.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, environmental, and economic factors.
Reporting & Analytics:
Maintain accurate records of commodity performance, savings, and supplier metrics. Prepare regular reports for management. DOA Approve within his delegation limits the process of the Supplier Bid List/nomination approval, supporting the Buyer and PBS to emit the PO
Requirement:
EDUCATION (SCHOOL/SPECIALIZATION): Economics or Engineering Degree, with specialization in Supply Chain would be a plus
LANGUAGES:
English fluent, additional language is preferred
EXPERIENCES:
3 years in an International Purchasing (depending on Commodity) or Logistics Organization, preferable in automotive sector ; Consolidated experience in Purchasing Indirect Logistics, or in alternative in Supply Chain Management is a must
Functional expertise of SAP and/or JAGGAER is considered as a plus
Good knowledge of MS Office suites, with expert knowledge of Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel. xrdztoy
Ability to work effectively within a global matrixed organization as a trusted member of a multicultural team, across multiple locations and Countries
Problem-solving and analysis techniques, good communication skills (presentation, written, verbal). Commercial and Technical Negotiation Skills, Mediation skills, relationship building, and conflict management
This position is based at our office in Italy (preferably Venaria or Bologna or Corbetta)
