    You will be working in the Global Product Management team, which is responsible for the definition of the Power Grids Grid Automation – Grid edge solutions product portfolio, development roadmap, and market introduction.

    This position is focused on all aspects related to power conversion solutions as part of our battery energy storage system offering.

    The Global Product Management team is located in Italy, at the HITACHI Energy offices in Genoa and Milan, Italy.

    Being part of a Global Product Management team, you shall be actively involved in:

    Supporting the product development strategy for advanced power electronic solutions in order to facilitate stable power system operation even for high penetration of inverter-based resources in weak networks.

    Assessing mandatory or voluntary standards (grid codes, directives, regulations, technical specifications etc.) and interpreting the requirements in function of the product features / characteristics

    Assisting and contributing to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by new technical requirements, customers and FMEA.

    Assisting and contributing to the functional analysis and the issuance of specialized application notes
    Communicating and coordinating with people of different technical backgrounds
    Coordinating product certification activities between different parties
    Provides sales support, participates in customer meetings, and drives the development of the requirements.
    Your background
    Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably in power electronics fields
    At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
    Fluency in both spoken and written English is required
    Knowledge of grid code certification and grid impact studies processes and requirements. Eager to expand knowledge and acquire deep understanding of region-specific regulations and requirements.
    Knowledge of Microgrid systems, battery storage, renewable generation is required.
    Knowledge of power systems, LV, MV and HV electrical equipment, switchgear, generation equipment.
    Knowledge of Matlab Simulink, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, PSS/e. Expertise with other simulation platforms and tools such as HOMER is a plus.
    Knowledge of Hardware in the Loop platforms (Typhoon, RTDS) is a plus.
    A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies
    A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills
    Availability to travel globally (20 – 30% of the time)
