    About the Role

    The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and other items critical to the production process. The role requires strong relationships with suppliers, negotiation skills, and attention to detail to ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Direct Procurement (Raw Materials for Production):
      • Oversight of raw material procurement, including ingredients, packaging, and other essential items.
      • Development and maintenance of supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply of materials.
      • Negotiation of favorable terms and prices with suppliers to optimize costs.
      • Inventory management and timely procurement to meet production schedules.
      • Collaboration with the production team to ensure procurement meets production requirements.
      • Market research to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings.
    • Indirect Procurement (Services and Operational Goods):
      • Procurement management for non-production related goods and services, including office supplies, maintenance services, IT equipment, and spare parts.
      • Sourcing and negotiation of suppliers for various indirect categories.
      • Maintenance of purchase records, contracts, and supplier performance metrics.
      • Monitoring and management of vendor performance to ensure service level agreements are met.
    • General Responsibilities:
      • Purchase order processing in a timely and accurate manner.
      • Collaboration with finance and accounting departments to ensure purchase orders align with budget and financial constraints.
      • Handling and resolution of procurement-related issues, such as delivery delays or quality concerns.
      • Maintenance of up-to-date knowledge on the food industry's supply chain trends and best practices.
      • Evaluation and improvement of procurement processes to drive cost savings, efficiency, and quality improvements.
      • Compliance with company policies, standards, and industry regulations.

    Requirements

    • Skills:
      • Previous experience as a Purchasing Officer in a similar environment.
      • Graduate degree in economics or related field.
      • Supply chain/procurement skills considered a plus.
      • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
      • Problem-solving abilities.
      • Excellent communication and social skills.
      • Fluency in English.
