    The Product Manager Steel is in charge of driving the development and leading projects execution for new products and solutions opportunities at Steel Customers. Thanks to his/her experience and expertise in Steelmaking, he/she is responsible for identifying Steel Customers' needs and go after evolution of steelmaking technologies to drive both current products offering and positioning and exploring development strategies.

    Your Responsibilities

  • You set up frequent visits and relationship with technical contact at Customer and with technology providers
  • You gain a deep understanding of each of the Steel Customer / Steel plant needs and a strategic view on steelmaking technologies evolutions notably driven by decarbonization, circular economy and digitalization
  • You gain a deep knowledge of lime products applications in Steel industry and prove and position their value in use from product features to application technologies.
  • You create buy-in for the product offering vision both internally and by collaborating with key external partners like steelmaking technology / equipment providers and other stakeholders
  • You identify and fill product gaps by assessing challenges and opportunities and generate new ideas of products and solutions to improve customer experience and drive sales growth and value
  • You develop product and solutions positioning strategies at customer level and globally
  • You translate product strategy into development projects for execution and prioritize activities based on business impact, time to market and optimal resources
  • You drive execution of project working closely primarily with Key accounts for the relation with the customers and commercial positioning and Innovation for developing new products, Tech partner for qualification and engineering to design suitable production capacities & capabilities
  • You drive product launches, including commissioning and full implementation working with supply chain, quality and production and suitable communication
  • You attend and represent Carmeuse in leading steel conferences and webinars to both learn and listen, networking with Customers and other stakeholders and promote Carmeuse product and value in use to lead Carmeuse to be recognized as a technical partner of choice for the Steelmakers
  • You monitor and assess steelmaking technologies trends and capture Key Account customers information and feedback where appropriate to ensure that it is used to adapt the sales tactics.
  • Your Profile

  • Hands on experience and expertise in steelmaking preferably in EAF or proven work experience in Product and/or Solution management for serving steel or metal industry
  • Min years' experience in the iron and steel industry domain in a technical production or process senior managing position preferably min 5 years at a position involving international business acumen in steel or metals
  • Language: English fluent. Local language in Carmeuse Europe zones (Slovak, Romanian, French, Serbian, Turkish) is a plus
  • Open to travel in Europe +/- 25 to 40%.
  • Academic University level with knowledge in metallurgy or material science
  • Recognized knowledge and expertise in steel industry domain and related challenges (material efficiency, new process, decarbonization, digitalization & circular economy)
  • Proven ability to manage and develop product and product positioning strategies for industrial use.
  • Customer oriented (find the solutions that best meet actual and future needs of customers)
