ATG is a leading provider of specialised engineering, scientific and technical services to the Space, Big Science and High Tech industries.

In the context of its international expansion, ATG Group is recruiting a Director for its subsidiary in Italy, Rome.


As Director, you will be in charge of ATG I, with two principal objectives: the growth of the Company and the compliance to Italian legislation.

Furthermore, you will be part of the ATG Group Management Team and working closely with the company's Executives on the implementation of ATG I strategy, based on very diverse missions and assignments.

  • Oversee financial performance;
  • Motivate and lead managers and teams;
  • Develop and implement business strategies;
  • Meet the objectives assigned by the Executives board;
  • Implement company policies;
  • Ensure that the company and employees follow and comply to legal guidelines;
  • Ensure that ATG I employees follow and comply with Company/Group requirements;
  • Be the first point of escalation for ATG I Human Resources matters.
  • Build relationships with business partners;
  • Oversee business operations;
  • Create strategic and business plans;
  • Provide strategic advice and strategic leadership;
  • Pursue market development opportunities;
  • Assess risks to ensure company survival/provide solutions/prevent issues;
  • Ensure the business hits its financial targets;
  • Follow industry trends and market changes;
  • Contribute and maintain the company's public profile.
  • Identify business opportunities with existing and new clients in the public and private sector;
  • Ensure continuity of the existing activities throughout the clients' procurement cycle;
  • Prospect for potential clients and convert them into increased business opportunities;
  • Develop and maintain specific focussed client relationships (long term);
  • Identify potential partners to guarantee the optimization of ATG's positioning globally as well as for specific opportunities;
  • Manage the preparation of offers and proposals to customers;
  • Support negotiation of resulting contracts;
  • Create and maintain a pipeline of sales leads;
  • Ensure leads are properly qualified;
  • Achieve the business development targets;
  • Submit and ensure data is accurate on weekly/monthly progress reports;
  • Review and propose improvements to the governance of the business development process in accordance with Best Practice;
  • Attend Agencies/Industry functions, including conferences and association events, and contribute information and feedback on upcoming market trends.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar business management position role;
  • Good knowledge of complete business acquisition lifecycle, including identification, qualification and developing capture plans and win strategies;
  • Ability to handle pressure, establish and meet deadlines, multitask and prioritise multiple, simultaneous activities;
  • Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills;
  • Commercial / financial / business acumen;
  • Able to build relationships with colleagues and work cooperatively with others to achieve goals;
  • Effective in negotiation skills;
  • Excellent written and oral command of Italian and English language;
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate;
  • Applicants must be able to provide a recent formal statement of good conduct.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

  • Proven track record in the development of services business and systems for the space sector;
  • Knowledge and acquaintance with Space related institutions and industry in Italy and Europe;
  • Fluency in any of the other major European language is welcome.
