Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection a former cultural institution and much-beloved boarding school is undergoing an extensive transformation to awaken the property's storied and romantic history, dating back to the 16th century.

Auberge's third European destination, Collegio is a delight for design lovers and gourmands alike.

Three adjacent original buildings feature 83 rooms, an original chapel and theater, a library, two restaurants and a bar which was once the school's principal's office.

Surrounded by old growth cyprus and soaring oak trees, the resort's grounds boast expansive lawns, five levels of terraced Baroque gardens, a pool and garden bar and restaurant.

Role Summary:


The Director of Operations of Collegio alla Querce will be charged with the oversight of operations for the property to become a one-of-a-kind iconic resort that attracts an affluent clientele interested in culinary, wellness, adventure between buzzy Florence and the beauty and charm of the Tuscan countryside.

They will develop a local culture that attracts top tier talent and connects to the community.

They will lead the recruitment efforts so we will allow us to be the employer of choice in Florence, Auberge's third property in Europe and build a loyal base of advocates creating one of the most coveted and special destinations in Italy.


Core Responsibilities:

Operational Wherewithal.

Oversee the deployment of the strategy and business plan for Collegio alla Querce to deliver on our mission of being the best-loved operator of one of a kind luxury hospitality and experiences.


Service Excellence Leading Service Excellence to ensure the fundamentals are in place for a successful embedding of our culture to be best loved.

Recruitment, Employee Branding and Culture Build. Execute the recruitment and employee branding strategy so that Collegio alla Querce is the employer of choice in Florence.

Responsible for building a rich culture of trust, pride and joy that will result in a high employee advocacy and engagement.

Operational Excellence and Quality.

Oversee the execution and successful implementation of the guest experience - Pre-Arrival, Arrival, During The Stay, Departure and Post-Departure to ensure that our guests report the highest levels of personal and customized services.

Guest Experience.

Responsible for the guest advocacy and engagement by being present as well as leading the operations team to continuously bridge and mitigate defects through a lens of continuous improvement.

Experiences, Programming and Partnerships.

Responsible for executing curated guest experiences unique to Collegio alla Querce based on the pillars of culture, art, culinary and adventures through daily rituals, activities, amenities, product selection, partner alignment, and space activation.

Financial. Responsible for the management of Pre-Opening and OS&E budgets as well the build of the Operating Budget. Responsible for developing the right labor models and controls to deliver on the budgeted margins.

Owner Relations.

Effectively support owner relationships on behalf of Auberge, to ensure the owners maintain trust and confidence in our stewardship of their asset.


Skills and Attributes:

Critical Thinking

Ability to understand business issues and operations in terms of revenue, costs, profit, guest and service expectations. Relentlessly focused on our performance and results.

Ability to collaborate on budgets and P&L to build the business and improve YOY flow thru margins.


Monitors financial performance and contribution to profitability whilst coaching Department Heads on how they may continue to refine and improve performance.


A proven leader of multi-channel teams, with experience in establishing rigorous KPIs and processes to generate measurable business results and driving revenues.

Adept at project management and managing multiple stakeholders, priorities and deliverables with sound planning and communication skills.
