    About the Role This role has everything from hands on through to high-level planning.

    You will love to get into the details of standards and (building) products code compliance with our team in code research, product development, engineering, and manufacturing.

    You are able to set up systems and processes that will form the backbone of our compliance for the future.

    Your expertise in standards compliance, ideally from the building industry or products used in buildings, will be instrumental in ZURU Tech's launch and success.

    You will be running a team on multiple location across the business to ensure our product and buildings meet and exceed all essential building-specific requirements.

    Your role is pivotal to our successful market launch worldwide.

    We are looking for someone to join our Italy or New Zealand office to help us with our continued growth towards market launch.

    This is an opportunity to join a highly innovative, well-funded, and fast-paced team at a foundational level.

    What You Will Do:
    Develop and update code compliance strategies, systems and processes. Continue to grow the code compliance team worldwide as required.
    Support your teams in doing code compliance documentation and standards research for new product development e.g. Support for areas of ambiguity.

    Help building our custom software code database and to work in with the backend team to integrate it with our design software.

    Liaise with external agencies, authorities, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with their requirements and to build relationships.
    Build systems that will keep Zuru up to date with changing codes and legislation that will affect us.
    Identify and assess potential risks and issues related to building codes and standards and recommending corrective actions or solutions.

    Work with engineers to prepare protocols and procedures for testing of ZURU products (structural, fire, life safety etc) and provide feedback to various teams involved in the Product Design and Fabrication.

    Work with interdisciplinary engineering teams in the design of products that need to meet prescriptive or performance-based design Maintain a record of testing results, certifications and agreements.

    Make sure that products are kept current in their certifications.
    Plan for the future e.g. looking to join code councils to influence future codes and standards.

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field.4+ years of experience in standards or building (products) code compliance-related fields.3+ years of experience in Leadership Roles.

    Experience in setting strategy as well as the system and processes to make it happen.


    English Proficiency:
    we are an international teamLocation: we are looking for someone located in EU or ideally willing to relocate in Italy (Modena or Milan)

    The Ideal Candidate will demonstrate:


    High-level knowledge of the development process: we won't expect you to write code, but be able to dialogue with developers efficientlyPrevious experience of interpreting building codes, standards, or regulations at Local, State, and National levels, preferably in US.Experience with Modular, Prefabricated Construction, Product Compliance.

    Experience in working with Building Authorities for approvals, testing and product certification.
    Strong interest in construction technology, AI and cutting-edge products.

    you can decide when to come and go to work from 6am to 10pm. We have a Core Time from 10:00 to 12:00 am in which presence is required (wfh/office), and the rest of the day is up to you (max 40h per week)
