Chiesi Research & Development

Our R&D team represents a fundamental asset for the business.

It is divided into integrated functional areas focusing on pipeline projects including discovery and preclinical research, chemical manufacturing and controls, drug delivery technology, clinical development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, intellectual property, quality assurance, R&D project and portfolio management.

Headquartered in the new purpose-built and fully integrated Research and Development Centre in Parma (Italy), the team also has important operations in Paris (France), Chippenham (UK), Cary (US), Stockholm (Sweden) and Toronto (Canada).

Who we are looking for

Purpose

Main Responsibilities
Plan and independently complete in vivo experiments to support preclinical characterization and evaluation of targets/pathways driving lung diseases.
Design and develop pharmacodynamic models.
Develop in vivo chronic models for COPD, Bronchiectasis, and other diseases.
Implementation of in vivo chronic respiratory disease models.
Perform molecular and biochemical assessments on ex vivo samples in collaboration with colleagues in other departments.
Study Monitoring for outsourced activities.
Responsible for managing external academic collaborators and CROs to deliver high-quality results.
Serve on internal project teams and provide pharmacology expertise.
Overall experimental activities would cover at least a 70% of the total time. Remaining 30% will be focused on extra-lab activities.
Experience Required
3+ years of in vivo pharmacology is required.
Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams and projects.
Strong communication skills and experience presenting data in a team environment.
Education

Languages

Fluency in English required.

Technical Skills

Perform routine rodent handling, dosing, and small animal surgeries, including but not limited to parenteral routes of administration, other minor surgeries, as well as tissue collection.

Experience with a range of in vitro skills, e.g. cell culture, molecular biology, immunoblotting, flow cytometry and ELISA.
