Proprietary Equipment Mechanical & Package Senior EngineerCompany: NEXTCHEM, a company of the MAIRE Group dedicated to Sustainable Technology Solutions.

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative senior engineer to join our team in Catania, Italy.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of cutting‑edge technologies aimed at advancing the energy transition agenda.

Recruitment is managed by Key2People.

Main Activities & ResponsibilitiesLead and ensure together with PEQ PM/HoD the quality of the generated deliverables and their compliance with the contractual requirements and company standards, procedures and work instructions.

Prepare and discuss with Project Manager and Engineering Head of Department the execution strategy of the project (including the project schedule) and assure its application throughout the entire project life.

Assure coordination of discipline activities regardless of location and distribution of engineering centers guaranteeing consistency of documents, respect of the schedule, implementation of contract requirements, compliance of budget (cost and man‑hours) and quality of deliverables under the guidance of the Project Manager/HoD and cooperation with other Project Engineers.

Interact with client representatives and vendors for all technical topics impacting on time and costs.
Issue technical documents (calculations and drawings).Issue material requisitions and technical tabulation of vendor offers.
Execute follow‑up of vendors during bidding stage and execution of projects.
Check sub‑vendor documents as requested by the responsible in agreement with the Project Team.
Guarantee assistance to inspection and construction departments upon request as per project needs.
Participate during bidding stage to issue technical proposals.
Participate in development of new solutions for proprietary equipment.
Participate in technical training of competence and exchange experience with colleagues of the Group.

Conduct technical training as per department and company needs and exchange experience with colleagues of the entire Tecnimont Group for new design techniques.

Keep current on technical specific improvement of the discipline.

CompetencesExperience with static equipment for petrochemical or oleochemical applications (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, air coolers, filters, plate heat exchangers, reactors).Ability to review client specifications & standards, prepare customized equipment supply and design specifications, prepare equipment inquiry/purchase requisitions.

Competent in preparing mechanical data sheets using 2D CAD software and preliminary pressure equipment calculation/design software (Compress‑3D) & technical bid evaluations.

Competent in mechanical/structural drawings review.

Knowledge of materials ASTM.General competences in rotating equipment (fans/motors).General competences in heat exchange and refractory calculation (Symtherm preferred).Review of vendor engineering drawings, calculations, technical documents and interface with other disciplines and departments.

Knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI, PED Directive, TEMA, EN and other process industry codes and standards.
Ability to produce accurate project deliverables and maintain project schedules and man‑hour budgets.
Required Skills & QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering years of experience in the same position.
Fluent English speaker and writer.
Willing to travel for work.
Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment and multidisciplinary context. xkiyazw Adaptivity to different disciplines (thermal exchange, static equipment, rotating, package equipment).
