Duties:


  • Provide the overall systems engineering and technical integration for the planning, development, acquisition, and implementation cycle for Army Information Management Area (IMA) requirements in their specialty area.
  • Review technical concept papers, develop technical guides, and establish technical architectures in Army programs, and integrate advance stateoftheart equipment to provide new and unprecedented system/network capabilities.
  • Perform critical analysis concerning engineering and implementation of specialty area systems; considering all policy and joint and Army architectures.
  • Provide expert opinion on final technical reports and briefings encompassing pertinent analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Develop or direct the development of automated models and expert systems to evaluate problems.
  • Provide exceptional technical expertise, advice, guidance, and handson skills for preparation of information systems plans, system design plans, and specifications for major Army and DoD programs/projects in their specialty area.
  • Visit other government agencies to observe progress, and to assess and render expert advice and assistance.
  • Provide formal and informal training in specialty area technologies, concepts, interfaces, and issues.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • Duties of this position require the incumbent to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance requiring access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).
  • This position is designated as a DoD M/ M Information Assurance Technical Level II (or greater) and/or IASAE II requires specific certifications be obtained within 6 months of appointment.
  • Must obtain and maintain a nofee passport and associated visa while assigned to a Federal civilian position in an area requiring a passport and associated visa, if authorized.
  • Position requires lifting of 30 pounds.
  • Required to possess a valid state driver's license to operate a passenger vehicle for operating government vehicles.

  • This is a Career Program (CP) 3
  • Information Technology Management position.
  • This is a Drug Testing Designated Position. This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019R (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program) and must pass urinalysis testing, as required, prior to appointment, reassignment or transfer and periodically thereafter.
  • Due to COVID19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within a designated time frame identified by the organization. At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency's telework policy. ???????

Specialized and Other Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes: reviewing, processing, and distributing various technical and operational directives and orders; reviewing network operations reports, incident reports, and task orders to provide mission impact and assign/adjust priorities; identifying and resolving technical aspects of complex infrastructure and automated information systems; and preparing and delivering daily operations and intelligence briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).- The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:_
