    Job Description

    In response to the increased refugee arrivals into Europe, the IRCestablished the program initially in Greece, which was expanded with programsin Serbia and the wider Balkans and with programs in Germany.

    Following a firstassessment conducted in January 2017 in Italy and another one in July 2017,several critical protection gaps were identified within assistance provided torefugees in migrants in Italy: mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS),assistance to unaccompanied children, information provision and legal support.

    To respond to the identified gaps, IRC established a small presence in Italy.Programs in Italy include web-based information platform, childprotection programming targeting unaccompanied children and victims oftrafficking, mentoring programs for the socio-economic inclusion of refugeeyouth, WPE, and education (social emotional learning and healing classrooms).

    Are you a FinanceOfficer ready to manage accounting, finance, budgeting, and grant managementfunctions for our Italy program? Responsibilities include maintainingaccounting databases, preparing financial documents, monitoring transactions,and assisting with financial reporting.

    MajorResponsibilities

    Responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to:

    Maintain the accounting database, recording, reconciling, and adjusting.
    Review financial documents, prepare invoices and vendor payment journals on Integra, and initiate payments via the bank website.
    To ensure that the Bank and cash book is updated daily.
    Preparation and checking of bank reconciliation on a monthly basis.
    Control and monitor all transactions throughout the month to maintain an accurate ledger.
    Extract detailed transactions and verify per account and financial dimensions.
    Preparation of monthly budget vs actuals.
    Monitor vendor accounts to ensure no outstanding payables or receivables.
    Keep track of facility rent, utilities, vendors, and partner payments on time.
    Review all staff travel expense reports for inclusion in payroll.
    Ensure all approved invoice journals are posted.
    Process and post recurring charges (, rent, prepaid insurance).
    Assist the finance manager in preparing the Donor and internal financial reports of the projects.
    Contribute to the efficient functioning of the Office in collaboration with the direct project management.
    Build and maintain electronic and hard files for all grants as per IRC practices, an electronic photo library, and all relevant internal and external program information. Ensure all grant files are organized and well managed for planning and preparation of Donor reports and project monitoring.
    Promote team engagement and adherence to IRC values.
    Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion in IRC Italy.
    Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies
    Any other task assigned by the line manager.

    Job Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.

    Minimum two years of experience in Finance, bookkeeping, accounting, or any related fields.
    Should have the capability to function comfortably in a complex work environment, working and prioritizing multiple tasks.
    Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English with staff.
    Good time management and social skills.
    Digital solid literacy (especially Excel).
    Maintain confidentiality

    Position directlyreports to Finance Manager, IRC Italy

    WorkingEnvironment:
    Primarily based in theMilan office, with the flexibility to work remotely for one or two days perweek, offering flexibility to accommodate various work arrangements.
