  • JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Professional Services Function is responsible for representing the company in interactions with external stakeholders such as Opticians and Optometrists, Buying Groups and Key Accounts, Professional Organisations. You will be responsible for and be the organisation's expert point of contact for the optical and optometric aspects of EssilorLuxottica's lens brands assigned to you and related services for the Italian market. You will work in brand marketing, sales and medical teams.
  • You will report to the Professional & Medical Relations Coordinator and will be part of the wider Marketing and Professional Lenses team of EssilorLuxottica Wholesale Italy.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:

  • Under the coordination of the Professional and Medical Relation Coordinator:
  • You will be the expert from a technical, optical and optometric point of view of your assigned lens brands, their product range and associated services.
  • You will be the main point of contact for the sales force at national level supporting the growth of the lens business in activities such as: installing our new technologies and product innovations on the market, facilitating the trade up to more advanced and premium visual solutions, solving complex cases in lenses prescription.... You will provide direct instore support to sales and assistance to customers.
  • You will be responsible for supervising the localisation for the Italian market of all materials relating to the lens brands assigned to you with the aim of ensuring that they are correct from a technical point of view, in line with our country's opticaloptometric practice and legally compliant with the Ministry of Health (in collaboration with the relevant Business Brand Management team).
Examples of materials for which you will be the reference are: 1) marketing materials 2) product decks 3) training courses on our Leonardo advanced training platform

  • You will coordinate the training needs of the Italian branch (independent optical channel) for the lens brands assigned to you and work in partnership with the Leonardo Vision Care team to develop the training plan. For this activity, you will collect the training needs from the Business Brand Managers and directly from the sales teams (with particular regard to Area Managers and Key Accounts), define the calendar of the Virtual Classrooms and proactively work with the Leonardo team to deliver the plan.
  • On certain projects and in order to broaden your scope of action, the position will also include participation in medical activities e.g. opticaloculist events in the territory and prospecting activities towards the ophthalmologists with the aim of promoting our products and services and facilitating the connections in the territory.
  • You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams, the brand managers and the sales in particular, in the development of our plans because we believe that the synergy between Brand and Professional leads to success and an effective market presence.
  • You will participate in the development and implementation of sales protocols, the construction of new product categories and the definition of annual promotional programmes by bringing your professional experience of the company's products and services.
  • You will organise the onboarding sessions of the Italian branch for new product launches
  • You will be involved in other activities such as, for example, organising focus groups with opticians and optometrists, organising panel product tests for our new lens technologies.
  • You will participate in industry events, roadshows, buying group conventions also as a spokeperson when needed.
  • You will keep up to date on a scientific level by reading the latest articles, e.g. on myopia, and on a technical level by monitoring competitors.
